Are you ready for the New Year?  Do you know what you would like to accomplish in these next twelve months? Have you accomplished everything that you wanted to accomplish in 2014?  What are your goals for 2015 and have you written them down? Writing out our goals may be one of the most important things that we can do as we anticipate the coming of the New Year. Unfortunately it is also one of those tasks that gets pushed aside until we are at least a month or two into the New Year.

I believe that not only should you write your goals down now! You should place them somewhere where you can see them every day. You should see them first thing in the morning and right before you go to bed. This important activity allows your subconscious mind to work on your goals for you. This was written about by Napoleon Hill in his book Think and Grow Rich and is also taught by Jack Canfield and Tony Robbins, as well as by me. Writing your goals down reaffirms what is important to you and helps you work towards the fruition of them. Looking at your goals every day, twice a day, keeps them in front of you and as your subconscious works with the Law of Attraction you are more apt to act on situations and opportunities that are presented to you to help you achieve your goals.

I keep my annual goals close at hand in my iPhone Evernote app and read them morning and night. In addition, I have written out my five year Businesses Vision, Wealth Vision, Health Vision, etc, and refer to them periodically as well. When you take a trip, you have a plan on how you are going to get from point A to point B. If you are driving in your own car you may plug in the destination on your GPS or look at a map before you leave. Throughout the trip, you will look at the GPS route or map to make sure that you are going in the right direction to reach your destination. If you are traveling by an airplane, train, bus or any other form of mass transportation, you have a schedule of when you need to be on your plane, etc and if you need to make connections, you know when you need to meet that connection. Goals are the map, the itinerary, for your life.

Goals help you move from where you are to where you want to be. They help you move forward towards where you would like to end up. The interesting thing about that is that as you get closer, and even attain your goals, new ones present themselves to you or you may revise your current goals just a little. This keeps you moving forward in life. If you get sidetracked or stuck, having your goals written down and in a place where you can read them every day will help you get back onto the right path, moving you forward.

I ask you the question again, what are your goals for this New Year? Have you written them down? Are they in a place that you can read them every day? Have you made them a part of your daily affirmations?

We would love your input for an upcoming “Goals 101” eBook. What would you like to know more about goal setting and goals achievement? Please post your question in the comment section below this post.

Happy New Year from Tom Hart and the Success Series Team!
